Our favorite way to break up the gifts we buy for our kids is into four categories – Want, Need, Wear and Read. They get one gift from each category. Then the rest of the items on their lists go onto the gift registries (yes, registries – I love to set up holiday registries for each of our children at Target) we create for them online. It helps to eliminate the random junk we end that ends up in the garbage after a few weeks. This is series of posts rounding up the best gifts for children by age. This post is our “Want, Need, Wear, Read: Gift Guide for 3 year old girls” guide.

Four is a great number! We have been doing this for the past three or four years, and don’t worry, when you set four gifts in front of your child, they’ll still be excited, they just won’t be overwhelmed. They’ll remember each gift and will be able to thoughtfully process each as they open them. More than four gifts and they’re just ripping open paper until they’ve opened everything in front of them.

want: hot potato game, peppa pig treehouse, lawn mower, cut up fruit, water table

need: bike, 2-in-1 scooter, foldable wagon, helmet

wear: rain boots, tutu dress, pajamas, Elsa dress up outfit

read: Cars and Truck A to Z, Little Traveler Book Set, Her Body Can, The Goodnight Train

SHOP

There you have it! Some holiday gift ideas for your 3 year old girl. Have you done “Want, Need, Wear, Read” with your kids before? Are you going to try it this year? It really has been a great way for our family to stay intentional with our holiday season. I typically can buy all 4 of our children’s gifts for $100 (or less)! It’s such a fun challenge.

Don’t forget the stocking stuffers.

Personalised children’s books can be a great gift too. Pesonalised books for kids are a wonderful way to introduce children to the joy of reading. I got mine from http://www.personalisedchildrensbooks.com ❤️

The perfect way to spend a few hours on a 95° day! Was just scrolling through stories, saw someone say it had a “lesbian narrative” and laughed out loud. Have you seen it? I apparently missed all of the controversy surrounding the movie, which means I’ve done a great job of filtering out my feed of people who don’t approve of GaYnEsS. 👋🏻👋🏻

Happy Father’s Day JP! He’s the one who supports our family, the doer of the dishes, the planner of the trips, the parent who makes sure the kids brush their teeth, and the one who will happily jumps into the cold, highly-chlorinated water of hotel pools to make these three happy. I had no idea how challenging parenthood would be. I am so lucky I chose a partner who is so positive and outgoing (the opposite of me 🫠) to raise a family with. ❤️

To kick of the weekend, dear husband, PLEASE take these kids and let me sleep in. — that’s what she said. I’m she. I said it. This first full week of summer break kicked my booty! Anyone else? 🫠
