Like most mamas, I LOVE pictures. I tend to be a bit of an OCD freak with all of our photos because we have so many and it’s important to me to keep track of them all. So between our phones and SD cards, I make it a point to back them up and file them “in the cloud” according to year and then month.
That said, I suck at actually printing all of our photos. When we get new family pictures taken, I’ll usually print out a few for frames. But other than that, we have SO many pictures that don’t actually make it on to paper. So imagine my surprise when I heard about Shutterfly’s new “Make My Book” feature. You just upload the photos you want printed in a photo book and one of their design specialists will lay it out for out. Done and done.
Yes! It’s exactly what is sounds like. You literally just upload the photos you want printed in a photo book and one of their design specialists lays it out for you. You’ll receive a proof from them in as little as three business days. If you like it just the way it is, you can place your order right then and there. Don’t worry — if you’re a control freak like me, you can still make edits to your book before actually pressing the order button. The only extra cost is a $9.99 design fee, that you only pay if you order the book. I spent days putting together a book of our favorite photos from 2015… only to never actually finish the final pages and order it. So now it’s only February 2017 and I already have our 2016 book sitting on our coffee table… maybe it’ll motivate me to finish up those final pages of 2015? ;) And maybe even finish our wedding photo book? MAYBE.
Up until now the photo books we have sitting around are pre-Blaire, so she is really excited to have a book with LOTS of pictures of her. While it’s so nice to have our pictures documented digitally, whether through social media or just backed up somewhere that we’ll never lose them, it’s even nicer to have them out in our home.
We love, love, love Shutterfly. Their products are always amazing and they have the best customer service. After our wedding I printed photo books for our moms and my grandma as Mother’s Day gifts. I accidentally typoed a name on the outside cover of one of the books… While I was hyperventilating, Jason convinced me to call their customer service to see if we could have another one rush printed/shipped to have it in time. You can only imagine my surprise when they told me about their satisfaction guarantee and printed us a new book for free. I will never use anyone else!
Are you inspired to finally get those precious photos of yours off your computer and onto the pages of a pretty photo book? What photo book are you going to make first?
