Gift-giving holidays give me anxiety. I HATE having clutter and toys everywhere – especially when they’re not being played with. For birthdays and Christmas, I make “registries” through Target or amazon and I try to be very intentional with the items we put on their lists. As they get older, they can obviously help with their own lists. But at age one? I get to pick it all! haha! When choosing these one year old gift ideas, I specifically choose toys that will last and will be played with for years.

1| wooden doll stroller: We have a plastic doll stroller that Blaire received as a birthday gift a few years ago. This wooden one is better for younger babies because it is lower to the ground and more stable for new walkers.
2| hedgehog accordion: We have friends with this toy and both Blaire and Ben have loved to play with it for years. And now Sloane LOVES it too! She is just getting the hang of using it.
3| custom swaddle doll: I found this customizable doll on Etsy and just thought it was the cutest thing ever! We picked the doll with the swaddle fabric we liked and then were able to pick an eye color and hair color. Sloane LOVES her.
4| block kit c/o LovEvery: This block kit is something your child will use for years and years. Our 6.5 and 3.5 year old play with it every single day. There are wheels little magnetic axel bars as well as a string so you can make it into a wooden box on wheels. Ben loves to put things in it and pull them around the house!
5| wooden name puzzle c/o Smiling Tree Toys: We have one of these puzzles for each of our kids. I love that they are custom, they are wooden and they help them learn how to spell their names.
6| pound and tap bench: This bench is so much fun for little ones! Even at 3.5 Ben still loves it!
7| zany zoo: We have had this for nearly 3 years and it is still in perfect condition. When our youngest starting standing (around 9-10 months) she loved to stand and hold onto it. There are fun things in the sides she would play with while seated, too.
8| toy shopping cart: This little shopping cart is sturdy enough for new walkers who need something to hold on to.
9| wooden number rainbow puzzle: Our kids all love puzzles and always have. Sloane seems to love all the colors of this one.
10| wooden cutting fruit & veggies: We bought wooden cutting fruit and veggies when our oldest was younger and they have always been such a hit! She is 6.5 and will still play with them. While they will not be cutting the fruit with the toy knife at 12 months, they will still be able to play with the fruit pieces.
11| play kitchen: A play kitchen is a classic children’s toy. While they may not start playing with it right at 12 months old, it will give them something to stand at and they can play with the accessories that come with it.
12| set of pull back cars: Ben got these for his first birthday and still loves them.
13| magic bottle & sippy cup set: All of my kids started dragging babies around the house once they hit 12 months old. I think it is fun to have some accessories for them to use with them as they start to play with them.
