I had always, always thought that I wanted to have a boy first. When I was still in my first trimester, I found the Little Baby Garvin Blog through Pinterest. She has a little girl, Harper, who was born almost exactly two years before Blaire. Reading through her posts and looking at all of her pictures of Harper just melted my heart. I immediately took back every prayer I had ever said/any thought I had ever put in to the universe asking for my oldest child to be a boy. The headbands, the dresses, the tutus… I was obsessed. But it was more than that, seeing her and her little mini me was just the most adorable thing to me. And it was something I wanted so badly.
I was convinced I was pregnant with a boy, so during our 20 week ultrasound when the tech. told us, “I’m 60% sure it’s a girl,” my heart skipped a beat! (The next week, a second ultrasound confirmed our little babe was, indeed, a little girl!) I would have been happy with either gender, but Blaire I’m so happy we have YOU! Your little personality is the best and your smile lights up our lives. I am so lucky! I love all things girly, and having a little girly girl is just as much fun as I always dreamed it would be. Blaire loves to “help me” with my makeup in the morning, which really just results in her running away with half of it. She loves pretending to use hair products and perfume, and loves playing with clothes. I feel so blessed to watch this little lady grow up right before my very eyes.
I was so excited to see the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection featured matching prints in women, baby and toddler sizes. I just had to get Blaire and I something matching! ;) (Yes, I’m that mom!) So obviously we had to get some photos together in our matching Lilly prints.
Baby girl, I’m so lucky to be your mama. Your sweet/wild/funny spirit makes us happier than we ever imagined possible! xo
