“my first haircut” at walt disney world’s magic kingdom harmony barbershop

Just a few weeks before our trip, Jason sent me a screenshot of a place called Harmony Barbershop located inside Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. On their menu they have just three items and one is called the “My First Haircut” package for $25 (May 2018). Jason asked if we should hold off on Ben’s first haircut and get it done there. I already had it scheduled at my salon for the Monday before our trip, so we’d only be delaying it a week. And the fact that it was only $25 and came with the cutest Mickey ears with “My 1st Haircut” embroidered on the back really sold me. They also give you a certificate and a cute, little bag with your baby’s hair clippings.

I called a few days later, so just 8 days before our trip and they only had one appointment left for the day we would be there. I gladly took it.

Our appointment was at 5PM. We arrived around 4:45PM and were seen immediately. After having spent the previous few hours in Bippity Boppity Boutique, I couldn’t believe how calm and quiet it was inside Harmony Barbershop. It was the complete opposite of the boutique. And honestly so refreshing after a long day of crowds, heat and loud.

A woman named Gladys cut his hair and she was the most patient saint of a woman. She was able to hold his hair still even when he turned his head back and forth a million times. When he first sat down, she gave him a few Disney light up toys to play with. Blaire was glad to take one off of his hands to play with as she watched. When it was time to use the clippers on his neck, Gladys stuck large mickey stickers all over his shirt and pants for him to play with while she cut. Such. A. Pro!

Getting Ben’s hair cut for the first time at Walt Disney World was such a fun, unique experience. It’s a memory we will always treasure!
