family medicine cabinet must haves

Before having kids, our medicine cabinet was relatively empty. The first time we had a sick baby, I had nothing on hand and it was terrible. Since then, I do my best to keep our medicine cabinet stocked with anything we may need for our kids, whether it’s because they are sick or hurt.

First and foremost, most things are not safe for use on a newborn. You should always consult your pediatrician before using anything. They’ll be able to tell you whether it’s safe and what dosing is correct for your child.

Shop the items below:

Sharing my explanation for a few things that may need explaining…

Nose Frida: To a first time parent, this seems gross. To anyone who has had a congested little baby, you realize it doesn’t matter. This is THE BEST way to clear out your baby’s nose.

PINXAV: We love this! It’s available online and over the counter at pharmacies. One of the unpleasant side-effects of antibiotics is lots of dirty diapers, which means diaper rash. This keeps the diaper rash away!

Be Kool Gel Sheets: These cool, gel strips stick on your child (on their forehead, chest, back) and it helps to cool them down when they have a fever.

Kinsa Thermometer: We love this thermometer because 1) it’s accurate 2) it’s smart! It links through Bluetooth to your phone. It keeps track of your little one’s temps. You can also add in their symptoms

First Aid Starter Kit: This kit is amazzzing. It has everything you need in a first aid kit. It is separated into three pods, so you can easily take it with in your diaper bag, your car or when traveling.

There’s my list! While I hope your little one is always healthy, I also want you to be a prepared mama in the event they do come down with something.

What do you keep in the medicine cabinet for your little one?

Humidifiers are such a huge help. It’s crazy how a little moisture can just fix them right up!

Nose Frida products are the best! And a temporal scanner is the way to go. We can’t get the kids to keep the other versions under their tongues.
