Spending a ton of money on maternity clothes is NOT necessary. There are plenty of places to shop for inexpensive maternity clothes.
Luckily, there are now a TON of options for maternity pieces that won’t take all of your money and have lasted me throughout both of my pregnancies. Don’t panic! You can find inexpensive maternity clothes.
For me, I try to maximize anything in my pre-pregnancy wardrobe whenever possible. Pants and my work wardrobe were always pieces I HAD to buy from the maternity section.
H&M
We didn’t have an h&m locally during my pregnancies. I loved to stalk their online selection and would visit a store whenever I was traveling.
Old Navy
Most stores have a small maternity section. I LOVE their plain, basic maternity tees and many of their pieces that fit into my business casual wardrobe for work. Whether it was a cute dress or comfy work pants – I was able to find lots of pieces on sale there in my local store.
Target
Okay, you know you’re going to Target at least all the time anyways, right? They have GREAT leggings, tees, and even jeans. They update their selection regularly, which is amazing. I would say they had new pieces in every week. I have even bought some cute tops when I wasn’t pregnant because they’re so darn cute. Don’t forget to check their Cartwheel app! They do occasionally offer deals on their Maternity Section.
Investing in a few basic tees and leggings can really set your entire maternity wardrobe, especially if you’re pregnant in the cooler months. With my kids being born in February and March, it was great for me to be able to wear my basic black or grey tee with the cardigans I already owned (or ones that I bought while pregnant NOT in the maternity section).
You don’t have to invest a ton of money into your maternity wardrobe to feel like you’re put together, without wearing the same outfit every other day. This time of your life doesn’t last forever, although it may feel like it when NOTHING in your closet fits you. You deserve to feel beautiful and comfortable during these 9 months!
