Last year I discovered the convenience of the splash pad. I don’t have to get in the water with my kids like I do when we go to the pool, which makes getting us ready and out the door easier. They still get to run around and work off energy, but I don’t have to commit to spending hours in the water. The best part? There are quite a few of them at neighborhood parks, which is really the best! You get to park close, you can bring your own snacks/drinks and they’re free. That’s right, every park in on this list is one of the free splash pads in the Quad Cities!
Bettendorf
Lincoln Park
951 27th Street
Bettendorf, IA 52722
This one of our very favorite! It can get crowded since it I the only one that’s free in Bettendorf. right when they open at 9am and around 3:45pm are the times when it usually has the least number of people. It’s surrounded with grass and trees, so it’s easy to spread out a blanket to watch your kiddos run around. There are a few benches around the splash area, too, although the majority of the benches are not in the shade.
Davenport
Davenport has the most splash pads, or as they call them, Spray Parks. They are spread throughout Davenport, with most of them at neighborhood parks.
Centennial Park
315 S Marquette Street
Davenport, IA 52802
This is probably the busiest of them in Davenport. It’s near the water-front, making it more well-known that most of the others throughout Davenport.
Petersen Park Spray Park
3005 W. Central Park Avenue
Davenport, IA 52804
Goose Creek Spray Park
6000 Scott Street
Davenport, IA 52806
Cork Hill Spray Park
1100 Farnam Street
Davenport, IA 52803
Moline, IL
Bass Street Landing
17th Street
Moline, IL 61265
Rock Island, IL
Schwiebert Riverfront Park
101 17th Street
Rock Island, IL 61201
Did I miss any other FREE splash pads in the Quad Cities? I know there are plenty of other pools and water attractions that are not free, but the cost of those definitely add up over the long, hot summer. If you just need to cool off and kill a little bit of time, these free splash pads are perfect!
