Last year I took a survey of my friends and family to find their favorite Christmas books. I really challenged myself to cut back on the number of festive clothing items I’ve let myself buy for each holiday, but I guess I am now channeling that energy into holiday books. I mean, they don’t outgrow books as quickly as they do clothing, right?! ;)
Last year Pick a Pine Tree sold out on Black Friday and was impossible to find ANYWHERE for the rest of the season. So I ordered it in early November and I am SO excited about it. This round up of favorite children’s Christmas books has a mixture of books that talk about the history of Christmas, as well as books that talk about the Christmas traditions, Christmas spirits, etc. I definitely want my kids to have fun with the joy of giving to their friends and family, but I want them to ultimately remember why we are celebrating the holiday in the first place.
Pick a Pine Tree | Christmas in the Manger | Little Blue Truck’s Christmas | The Nutcracker | The Christmas Story | Don’t Push the Button: A Christmas Adventure | The Sweet Smell of Christmas | Ditty Bird Christmas Songs
I highly recommend each and every one of these books. They are the perfect mix of fun stories and the real story of Christmas and the birth of Jesus.
