I can’t be the only one picking up a hangry preschooler every afternoon. Blaire goes to school from 12—3. She has lunch before school and has a snack while she’s there, but she is still starving every day when she gets in the car.
Thanks to lots of roadwork our drive home is never quick. It’s also my favorite time to run errands, since we are all already out. Which makes it super tempting to grab her fast food or an expensive pre-made snack from the store.
The time she is in school typically overlaps with Ben’s nap time, aka my time to get things done. Whether it’s work or something around the house, I like to use every minute I can to accomplish as many things as possible.
To make the most of my sacred alone time, I’ve started “snack prepping” for her and let me tell you, it hasn’t disappointed her and it couldn’t be easier. I use little containers and package up pretzels every Monday. When Ben and I head out to get her from school, I grab two mini Babybel® Cheeses and a package of pretzels and go! I’ve saved snack time!
It’s enough to keep her full until dinner (about 2.5 hours later) and Blaire loves that she can open the cheese by herself. Their seasonal packaging makes it even more fun!

Mini Babybel® Cheese is 100% cheese with no artificial growth hormones*. There are six different varieties, so there’s something for everyone in your family. I love anything that’s easy to throw in the diaper bag, especially if it’s something mama can snack on too.
