Happy, happy Easter! Our Easter weekend has been perfect… Filled with family, friends, fun and food! So. Much. Food! Our Easter weekend this year was very similar to last year’s. We celebrated Saturday with brunch at our country club with some of our best friends. Blaire and Brylee donned matching dresses. AND Blaire was psyched to see the Easter bunny. She is also a pro at hunting Easter eggs. It’s always so fun to spend time at our country club, especially with my friend Jamie. It’s where Jason & I met and she was the one who introduced us… so it’s always special to be there with our families now. It’s crazy how much can change in 5 years!
I’ve mentioned it a bunch, but Jason was welcomed into the Catholic Faith at the Easter Vigil Saturday night. It was a long service (almost 3 hours!) and Blaire stayed awake through all of it. Both of my parents and my friend Katherine were there to support Jason and help us with Blaire. AND since Lent was finally over, I celebrated with a Coke on the way home from mass at 11:30PM. ;)
We slept in past 9AM today and it was amazing! I can’t remember the last time I didn’t have to get up early on Easter to be sure we were at mass on time. We hosted Easter again this year for our families. It’s so nice to not have to spend the day driving around, especially since my family lives an hour away. Too bad the weather wasn’t as sunny and beautiful as it was last year… but at least it wasn’t snowing!
Blaire was so exited when she realized the Easter Bunny had been to our house this morning. She collected eggs that led her to her Easter Basket inside her teepee. She got to have another Easter egg hunt with family later in the day. It had to be in the basement since the weather didn’t cooperate, but she didn’t mind.
We had a beautiful, fun weekend and are feeling so blessed to have such amazing family and friends to share our lives with. Here’s hoping you had the same. xo
