Nicknames: Blairsey
Height/Weight: 45” (73.3%) / 48lbs (80%)
Learning: She started kindergarten in August and she really loves it so far. They’re practicing letters, doing math, PE, art and music. Her artwork is really getting more and more detailed and she is so proud of it! She has the occasional morning where she’d rather stay home with Ben and I, but overall she is up and excited for school each morning.
Watching: Since school has started there hasn’t been much time to watch anything. She loves Disney, The Descendants and Alvin & the Chipmunks.
Reading: She gets to check books out from the library at school and is always choosing something different. Seek and Find books might still be her favorite though. She also loves princesses, Tinkerbell and Lego Girls.
What She Wants to be When She Grows Up: Still a “jump teacher” as in someone who teaches kids how to jump safely on trampolines.
Favorite Things to Do: She loves to ride her bike and play outside. She loves games, puzzles and crafts. She is starting her third year of dance, which is still ballet and tap, with some “mats”.
Favorite Foods: Snacks! This kid doesn’t want to eat a real meal, ever. Her favorite “meal” is a package of ramen noodles with just butter, salt and pepper on them. She just calls them “noodles” and requests them every night. Some of her other favorites are grape tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, apples, apple sauce, chips, string cheese, hot dogs, water with “red stuff” (strawberry watermelon flavoring, lol!) and chocolate milk.
Biggest Milestone: I’m not sure which is bigger — starting kindergarten or losing her first tooth! She started kindergarten on 8/26 and lost her first tooth on 9/15.
My Favorite Part of This Stage: Seeing how independent she is, yet seeing how much she knows she still needs us. She wants me to walk her into school, wants approx. 12 hugs and kisses, has to hug and kiss Ben, pick him up and spin him around, then marches right off to class. Seeing her so small in those big hallways makes me want to cry. She is so brave though and even when she has been nervous or scared about things at her school (like trying the pick up line instead of me walking up to get her) she wants to try them again until she feels like she’s got it down. She is so smart and can be patient and loving with Ben, wanting to teach him everything! Then the next second she’s over it and wants her personal space to play alone.

I can’t believe she will become a big sister again in just a few weeks. She constantly talks about her baby sister. She can’t wait to have a baby to hold again, holding Ben as a baby was one of her favorite things. She is so worried about me. She wants to help me get things ready, wants to make sure I’m not too tired, wants to be at my doctors appointments. She said she wonders every day while she is at school if someone else will pick her up because her baby sister decided to come that day. She has also volunteered to pack the diaper bag every time we leave the house because she knows I always forget things when I pack it. Haha!
