Weight/Height: 22.5lbs / 30.25″
Wearing: This little guy is still wearing mostly 12 month clothing and 18 month PJs.
Saying: Doggy, Moo and still saying: Mama, Dada, Hi Dada, Go, Car, Hi, Blaire, Ball, Night Night, Quack, Ruff Ruff.
Favorite Things: Animals, climbing, yelling, and other people’s drinks. Seriously. He is always stealing his friends sippy cups, his sister’s cups and screaming when I am drinking something. It used to be if it was something that had a straw, but now it’s anything! And anything I’ve let him try (thinking he won’t like it!) iced coffee or different kinds of pop, he usually makes a face and then goes back for more. *eye roll* He still loves to play in the water. Whether it’s the water table, the pool, the splash pad, or the bath tub.
Favorite Foods: CARBS! He never turns down toast, pizza crust, waffles or pancakes. He also loves corn on the cob, blueberries, crackers, toddler fruit snacks, and chicken, specifically Chick-fil-A. Lol!
Biggest Milestone: Molars! At his 15 month well visit, the doctor said she could see that all 4 spots were swollen. Finally, the top 2 popped through and he is back to his normal, happy self! He made his first Build A Bear and he has now had his first few really hard falls. Luckily they’ve just resulted in bruises and scrapes and he usually calms down from them within a few minutes. Of course, one cut under his lip had to look like HFM.
Biggest Challenge: Between cutting his molars and a virus he had, he definitely wasn’t feeling well for a few days. He spiked a fever of 102, but it broke within 24 hours. But he wasn’t eating much, his sleep was terrible and he just seemed really grouchy. After that we noticed a rash and got worried maybe he had strep throat. But we were able to get into his doctor on a Sunday to rule out strep. His strep test was negative so she said it was just a virus. Luckily, the next day he seemed to be over it and was back to himself.
My Favorite Part of This Stage: I know I say this every time but I love seeing his relationship with Blaire grow and evolve. He is able to communicate yes or no to us, and will yell to get our attention to lead us if he wants a drink, or a snack, or something he can’t reach. I love it! I also love that he still likes being worn, so I just want to hold on to that a little big longer.
Looking Forward To: Spending more one on one time with him when Blaire starts afternoon pre-k at the end of August.
Oh, Benny. You are so sweet and I just want to keep you little awhile longer.
