I know the old school thinking was that only first babies were celebrated with a baby shower. You know, unless there were five years between your babies, or whatever the proper etiquette rule was.
Back in 2012-ish, the term baby sprinkle was coined to describe a smaller version of a traditional baby shower. It was the perfect way to celebrate a mother who may already have the big gear (pack and play, high chair, crib, etc.) but will need the day-to-day things necessary for a new baby. Every baby deserves to be celebrated and it’s finally not seen as bad etiquette to do so.
There are definitely things that wear out quicker than others and typically need to be replaced with each new baby, so I’ve rounded up all of these items for you below. An added bonus to creating your registry is that many retailers offer a “completion” coupon once you get close to your due date. For Target, it’s 15% off. For Amazon, it’s 15% off for Prime members and 10% off for everyone else.
There are so many baby monitor options. If you did not choose a model that allows you to link another camera to your same monitor, consider registering for a new one. You do not want to have to worry about multiple monitors.
If you are breastfeeding, I also recommend stocking up on new nursing essentials. If you’re formula-feeding, add formula to your list, too.

If you are putting together/hosting a baby sprinkle, consider also including a diaper raffle. Itâs a fun way to give away a gift card (or two) to guests in exchange for some diapers… and we KNOW you can never have too many diapers!
