must haves for a 6 month old baby

Six months is such a fun age! At six months old my babies have been able to sit up on their own for at least a few seconds, they’re starting to try solids, they have the tiniest bit of their first tooth popping through and they love to “stand” up and look around. There are so many baby products out there, so I wanted to round up my must haves for a 6 month old baby! I have shared them below, as well as a little bit about why we love them.

1 | Explore & More Jumpscape Foldaway Jumper c/o Skip Hop: At 6 months, neither of my kids who have used this know how to actually jump in it yet, but they do like “standing” in it and chewing on the toys.
2 | Num Num Pre-Spoon GOOtensils: I think I’m late to the game on these because I did not try them with my first two. One spoon in the pack has a slight indentation in the grooves to grip a little bit of food — we use it for yogurt and purées.. The other is completely open in the groove to hold a bit more food. It’s been nice to smoosh a tiny piece of food in there for Sloane. She holds it herself and feeds herself, much easier than picking up tiny pieces of food and getting them into her mouth!
3 | Bumkins Starter Bibs: These are waterproof, washable and stain resistant. They come in a 2 pack and have held up really well for us. Plus the prints are all very cute!
4 | Como Tomo Silicone Teether: This teether was a favorite for both Ben and Sloane. It’s simple, it says the prongs are designed to be the same size as their little fingers, so they aren’t gagging themselves with it.
5 | Boppy Nursing Pillow: If you have a nursing pillow, now is a good time to use it to help them sit up on the floor.
6 | Antilop High Chair: We have had a few different high chairs and this has been our favorite. As an added bonus, it’s significantly cheaper than most other high chairs. We purchase accessories for it through Yeah Baby Goods. We have a foot rest, place mat, cushion and cushion cover.
7 | Itzy Ritzy Teething Necklace: This teething necklace is for YOU to wear, not your baby. It serves two purposes for us, 1) Yes, Sloane loves to chew on it. 2) It is fun for her to fiddle with when nursing. It seems to help her keep her attention there vs. looking all around the room.
8 | Baltic Amber Teething Anklet: This is for your baby to wear. We have used one with all three kids. I prefer the anklet to a necklace. I have truly noticed a difference in my kids when wearing them.
9 | Angelcare Baby Bath Support: By the age of 6 months I have moved our babies out of their “baby” bath tubs. They love this little thing because they can sit in it in the bathtub and have a lot more water to kick and splash around!
10 | Zipadee Zip Sleep Sack: We have used these since we initially saw them on Sharktank in 2014. We started with Blaire and Ben both around 9 months. With Sloane we started around 5 months. She was out of her sleep sack and sleeping on her belly. She kept waking up over night with really cold hands. We started using this and she stopped waking up!
