Thank you to Happy Family Yogurt for sponsoring today’s post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It has been 3 months since Ben first started solids! I started by making my own purees, and eventually also began to mix in some store-bought purees after the first month or so. But, I got so caught up in trying to figure out what foods to make for Ben to try, I completely forgot about the easy and healthy food that’s perfect for one of baby’s first foods, at the age of 6 months. Whole Milk Baby Yogurt!
The first few bites, Ben made quite the funny faces, but I think it was probably since the texture was much thicker than any of the purees he had tried up until this point. And now, yogurt is our go-to breakfast! Not only is it the perfect breakfast food, when it’s frozen, it’s the perfect yummy treat for your teething baby. And it’s super easy to make.
I just put wax paper on a baking sheet (and then on a cooling rack because the baking sheet I chose didn’t fit in the freezer). I put the yogurt in a sandwich baggie, cut off the tip, and squeezed them out into small circles. You can also just use a spoon. Pop them in the freezer for a few hours and that’s it. I made different sizes, the perfect size seemed to be able the size of a dime.
I called them “Yogurt Melts” because they melt fairly quickly. Which is good for little ones learning to eat, bad if they get dropped onto their laps and you don’t grab them right away. Ben likes to pick up his food with his right hand and then passed it to his left and puts it in his mouth… so by the time he gets it into his mouth, he has some on his hands.
Keep in mind, all yogurt is not created equal. Happy Baby Yogurt Cups are great for babies because they are made with Whole Milk Yogurt with Vitamin D. They contain Probiotics and no added sweeteners. They’re also USDA Organic and non-GMO. You can find Happy Baby Yogurt Cups at Walmart. When you shop, be sure to use this offer for $1 off from Ibotta!
