4 easy ways for moms to destress

This post is sponsored by Posh Coloring Studio, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

This goes without saying, but everything changes when you become a mom. Suddenly you’re pushing ourself to your limits. You’re more tired than you’ve ever been. You’re more stressed than you’ve ever been. Have you ever felt like you might cry in the middle of Target when your baby is screaming and you can’t get the bottle out of your diaper bag fast enough? Our your toddler is screaming because you told them they can’t get that ridiculous toy they’re begging for? Both happened to me today! So don’t worry mama, you’re not alone. But guess what? Tonight I destressed and all is well again.

These are my four favorite ways to destress as a mama.

Posh Coloring Studio1| A shower (maybe even a bath!) after bedtime. Saying “take a bath to unwind” may sound cliche, so I’m not saying that. I mean, seriously, just being able to take a shower for as long as I want without a small person peaking their head in every 2 minutes wanting a snack or the channel changed or something. If I don’t shower after bedtime when my husband is home, then it’s usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning, so I feel rushed and I can’t be the only one who DESPISES being asked how many more minutes until I’m ready to go. But, if you have some extra time and a bath bomb, by all means, take a bath to unwind.

2| Adult coloring. Yes, adult coloring books became super popular in 2015. I can’t be the only one who gets a little too possessive of my artwork when my kid asks me to color with her. And what’s more fun than coloring whatever cartoon characters your kid is into at that moment? Coloring your favorite family photo. Or that photo of your children that always makes you smile. You can easily upload your photos to Posh Coloring Studio and it’ll turn them into coloring pages. You can quickly download them, print them, and wa la! And hey, coloring their precious little face(s) while they’re in time out just might make you want to let them out a little early.

3| Working out. I’m not someone who LOVES the gym, but I think the more you go, the more you begin to love it and need that time. Whether it’s yoga, running or lifting weights – working out is a great way to destress! Plus there are punching bags if you’re really stressed out! ;) In all seriousness, being active and getting in some kind of workout really, REALLY helps with my anxiety and stress levels.

4| A trip to the spa. Okay, maybe not even a full-blown trip to the spa. For me, getting a manicure/pedicure at my favorite place or a trip to the chiropractor for an adjustment and some massage therapy are some of my favorite ways to unwind during my me time!

I have so much fun turning our photos into coloring pages. They make fun gifts for friends, family and teachers, too! You can try it yourself through Posh Coloring Studio.
