One of my biggest worries when making the decision to leave my full time job was that I was walked away from a very generous 401k plan. It’s scary to know I’ll be solely responsible for contributing to my retirement income going forward, without an employer to match my contributions. In the job I was leaving, it was our organization’s mission to help women live more financially secure lives through the right financial products – so it’s something I’m passionate about. I’d never want to put myself in a position of financial hardship in the future and I doubt I’ll want to work until I’m 70.

I have a few different retirement investment accounts and I have had no idea what to do with them. I’ve put off meeting with a financial planner because, well, that doesn’t sound like much fun. I am proud of what I’ve saved, but I want to make sure I am doing what’s best for my accounts, whether that means combining them, changing their investments, etc. I am so excited to talk to you about blooom. It makes 401k planning easy (well, easier) and painless.

Saving for retirement can be tricky if you are a SAHM without any personal income. Meeting with a financial planner to see what your options are for any retirement accounts you may have from the time you were in the workforce, or having your partner contribute on your behalf, etc. is the first step.

First, you can take their free assessment that goes through your current 401k situation to analyze where you’re paying unnecessary fees and where you could be doing better. From there, you can opt in to their $10/month service where they’ll help you manage your 401k and make sure you’re optimizing your investments.

A 401k is one of those things you don’t necessarily think about during your busy day-to-day life. You set it up, you check in on it a few times a year, and that’s it. It gives you that peace of mind, knowing you’re doing something now to set yourself up for the long term. Knowing blooom has your back gives you that peace of mind to enjoy your hobbies and quality time with your family.

Don’t worry – you can cancel your account with blooom at any time without any extra fees.

What do you think? Are you ready to take control of your future? It’s the perfect way to get a jump on a common New Year’s Resolution!
