I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you for the 100th time that Fall is my favorite! Our October was so much fun and busy, busy, busy. I made us a Fall Checklist and we completed everything, just in time for November. So here’s a little recap of how we spent our October.
First up, we had lots of bonfires with friends, which means we had more than one s’more. Complete with ghost marshmallows. We went to the pumpkin patch with friends to pick out some pumpkins, watch the pumpkin cannon and take a hay rack ride. While my goddaughter was staying with us, we dressed in matching Halloween PJs and decorated our pumpkins.
We took a break from the fall weather with a trip to Savannah mid-October, but celebrated the beautiful fall weather with a trip to Brookfield Zoo after we landed in Chicago. We went apple picking (for the first time EVER!) and took a hayrack ride to and from the orchard. We used those yummy apples to make lots of homemade apple sauce and caramel apples. YUM!
We went to the Family Halloween Party at our country club and decorated pumpkins with more stickers and even some pumpkin crayons! Blaire loved them and had so much fun coloring on her pumpkin. We took another hayrack ride through the golf course (where Jason and I met), complete with homemade hot chocolate.
On Halloween we took Blaire trick-or-treating for the first time and she loved it! We went with some friends and their kids, so Blaire was trying to keep up with them the whole time. It was a little rainy and dreary, but not too cold, so we had a great time! Blaire got lots of candy and treats from her great grandparents. We finished the night at my best friend’s house for a family costume party.
Now that Halloween is over, you know what that means… Thanksgiving is up next and then straight on to my birthday (Christmas Eve!) and Christmas! I can’t wait! I hope you had the best October! How did you spend this beautiful Halloween weekend? xo
