Help Spread the Love

June 16, 2015

I started my new job back in January, at a not-for-profit that focuses on helping women protect themselves, their families and their communities. When you spend a majority of your day promoting philanthropy, you can’t help but feel you could be doing something more to help those in need. It’s really amazing and humbling to attend award dinners, serve meals to the homeless and participate in fundraisers to recognize the individuals dedicating their lives to issues so close to their hearts.

When Huggies asked me to help spread the word about their #UltraHug campaign, I knew it was something I had to do. With so many options in every community, it can be tough to choose just one project that needs some help. So to help spread the love, Huggies is giving away 10 grants ($2,000 each!) to local community projects. It can be a local park, rec-center or any cause close to your heart.

The community project I nominate is a non-profit called Tudi’s Tribe. Tudi’s Tribe is dedicated to helping children with chronic illnesses experience life-changing events of their choosing. Whether their wish is a college basketball game or a trip to Disney World, Tudi’s Tribe uses their funds to make those wishes come true. Some of the children’s wishes are as simple as a dinner at a restaurant they’ve never been to or helping co-anchor the local news. Health is a  most of us take for granted, especially the health of our children. I love that Tudi’s Tribe is dedicated to putting smiles on the face of children who are usually focusing most of their energy on fighting their illnesses.

To nominate a project in your community, just share a selfie of you and your little one with #UltraHug on Instagram or Twitter. (Entries will be accepted through June 25.) You can view all of the entries here. Then, on July 6, return to this page to cast your vote for your favorite community project. The top ten vote-getters will receive a $2,000 grant from Huggies. You can find all campaign/giveaway rules here.

Thank you to Huggies and Wal-Mart for this amazing opportunity!
