Trying to Catch Up…

February 10, 2015

It’s been a little while since I’ve actually blogged about what’s going on with us! So let’s play some catch up… I started a new job two weeks ago. I’m back to working in an office full-time. It was a hard decision to give up my two days in the office/three days working from home for a company I absolutely loved, especially because it did give me so much extra time with Blaire. But, ultimately I really felt it was best for all of us that I take this job opportunity. It was getting harder to get my work done from home during the correct hours, because I felt bad ignoring Blaire while trying to get work done. In the end, Blaire absolutely loves her (in-home) daycare and is very happy to get to spend more time with her friends, so it’s been a win/win for both of us. I know Blaire is having fun with her friends, and mama is getting work done. ;)

We’ve had lots of exciting things going on around here. The most exciting? BLAIRE IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! In close second? We ordered a new, king-sized bed! I absolutely can’t wait for it to get here. I’m also super excited to buy new bedding. Let the online shopping begin! The past few weeks we have had some crazy, cold weather and lots of snow. We didn’t leave the house on February 1 because we got over 12 inches of snow here! It was fun to spend all day inside by the fireplace, not so fun to have to drive in it the next few days as they got the roads cleared. But Blaire sure does look cute all bundled up! You’ll notice she is currently in a binky phase. At daycare the other kids her age both use binkys, and so I start sending one with her to play with so that she wouldn’t try to steal theirs. We also realized that it soothes her at night – allowing her to sleep through the night. Which is obviously been amazing! She also had her sixth tooth pop through this week.

Now that I’m working out of the house full-time, you can guess that the house is messy and I’m behind on laundry. Once we get everything together for Blaire’s birthday party, I’m hoping I can get myself into a better routine to keep on top of everything. But there’s always something, isn’t there? And I’d rather spend evenings playing with my daughter and then binge-watching DVR with my husband than cleaning! I’m open to any tips you have to staying motivated to keep your house clean. Seriously! Share them below. …And happy hump day! We’ve made it halfway through the week. xo

You go mama!!! What’s the new job like? Hope you’re doing well! I am so jealous of your new king bed!!! I’m am dying to get one, especially after all the construction is done! And yay to binky babies for the win! LOL! Huntley still uses her Wubbanub, it’s the only binky she’ll take even as a newborn. She doesn’t use it out in public though, just in the carseat and before nap time and bedtime to calm herself to sleep. She doesn’t cry or fuss when we put her down because of that binky, she knows what to do :)

As for keeping the house clean? Haha, I have no idea and I’m a stay-at-home mom and can’t keep up. Tanner calls me a stay-at-home mom that never actually “stays home” he says I’m allergic to the house after three hours. LOL. The only thing I do manage to get done is cooking and cleaning (most days), but as for laundry, well that’s whole another story! Let me know if you find out any tips!

Im a first time mom to an 8 week old and before I had her I worked full time. What helps me stay motivated and on top of the cleaning is making a list for things I want to accomplish each day. Then I ask my husband Which ones he can do! :-)
