• We picked up the last of this little boy stuff from his preschool today. So here is his last day of school picture! He talks about his friends and his teachers almost every day. He can’t wait to go back in the fall 2 days per week! Swipe to see little Benny on his first day. ❤️🥰 #happilytrista #benjaminp #thebump #theygrowuptoofast
  • A random share but I put on this dress today and then felt like I had to take a picture. Little Ms. Sloaney with 7 months on the inside and then 7 months out here with us. ❤️

  • pictured here: a rare moment of these two getting along. 🤪 also those pictures on the back wall are some of my favorite things ever. they’re 16x20 but I feel like they look so tiny in pictures. maybe I need them to be life sized? 🤣🙌🏻

  • I will be crushed when I can’t babywear anymore. Being so close I can see her every expression. She loves looking around seeing what her siblings are up to and what I’m up to. It has been so helpful with my anxiety. This past week has been really hard but I tweaked my medication dosing and am hopeful things will get better. #happilytrista •

  • her hands 🤣 she is ready to pounce on everything and get it into her mouth ASAP... including the phone when it’s within reach. she has two tiny little teeth just barely poking through. she has FOMO from having two loud siblings home with us 24/7. she started biting me when she’s eating, I scream/yell/make a crazy noise. she cracks up laughing... then does it again. I can’t say that’s my favorite part of this stage. But gosh she is just funny and sweet and already so full of personality. 🥰

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who is a mama — in one way or another. I know this is a tough day for many, so I hope you are taking some time to yourself today. ❤️

  • We are so thankful for these warmer temps AND that we have a backyard with so much to keep these kids busy! From the swing set, to the sandbox, to the water table, it's our own personal playground. They're always moving which means they're burning off energy and making memories. I love using my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra to capture photos of them. Today in stories I'm showing how to use the "Single Take" feature to get the best pictures of your kids!

12 easy holiday traditions for your family

Family Game NightWhen I think about the holidays, I think of spending quality time together with my family. Even though we have only been married five and a half years, Blaire was born only a few days before our first wedding anniversary, so we have had the past four and a half years to build traditions together for our own little family.

And honestly, they all just came about naturally. We didn’t put pressure on ourselves to create traditions. As Blaire went from being a baby to a toddler to a preschooler, our traditions have grown with her interests.

Holiday traditions don’t have to be fancy or expensive. The most important thing is you’re doing something that gives you the opportunity to spend quality time together as a family.

1| Decorate Christmas cookies together.
Even if they’re store bought sugar cookies already cut into shapes. Make extra for your neighbors!

2| Go caroling.
It doesn’t matter if you have the best voice. Most kids LOVE to sing! And it’s the thought that counts.

3| Donate old toys.
Go through toys and donate anything your children haven’t played with in the past few months. It will make room for all of the new presents they are sure to get.

4| Make a Christmas Eve box.
Wrap up PJs for each kiddo, a bag of popcorn, candy and a new movie.

5| Visit Santa.
Maybe they’ll even want to sit with him to get a picture and not just wave at him from afar.

6| Drink hot cocoa.
Extra points if you have marshmallows and whipped cream on top!

7| Pick a Christmas movie  and watch it together every year.
We have already seen the new Grinch in the movie theatre, so I think we will have to add this to our list starting next year!

8| Go on a Christmas light tour.
We seriously do this every weekend once Christmas lights are up. It is one of Blaire’s favorite things.

9| Bake a birthday cake for Jesus.
Blaire LOVES baking.

10| Have a family game night.
We try to do this once a week because Blaire loves it so much.

11| Build a gingerbread house.
This actually might be the hardest tradition because actually building the gingerbread house isn’t all that easy. Decorating it sure is fun though!

12| Make a donation to RMHC.
It can be hard to find time to give, especially around the holidays, RMHC makes it easy. It takes two minutes to make a donation and your gift to RMHC gives families the gift of togetherness.

If you aren’t familiar, through the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programs, RMHC provides places for families to stay. These places are only steps from the hospitals where their children are receiving critical medical care.

When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness it is obviously an emotional strain on a family, but it is also a financial strain. The children are sent to a hospital with the specialists and the treatments the child needs. Many times this is in a different city or even another state.Without the help from RMHC, families would have to pay out of their own pockets to stay in the same town their children are receiving medical treatment.

Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game Night Family Game NightFamily Game NightWhile we are able to easily have a family game night in our living room whenever we want, families with sick children spend long days and nights enduring all of the stress and heartache that comes from the diagnosis of a life changing illness. Being able to sleep only steps away from the hospital, or in a Ronald McDonald Family Room inside the hospital, where their sick child receives treatment brings parents and families so much — joy, courage, comfort, strength and togetherness.

The holidays are such a special time of year. We definitely hope our children remember all of the fun things we do together, but we also want them to realize how lucky we are. Lucky that they can get the Christmas presents they want. Lucky they get to spend time with so many family members. And lucky that we have a roof over our heads. Lucky that we are all healthy. Lucky that we are fortunate enough to pay it forward to others who aren’t so lucky.

Aw I love the donation as a tradition! One tradition we do for our kids is we take them to Hobby Lobby and they get to pick out whatever ornament they want! (They have every ornament you could ever imagine). We label it with their name & year and they hang it on the tree. They love it ? They pick out the craziest things ?

Labeling them is genius! We have SO many and I know I’m going to forget where we bought them or which child picked them out. I totally think I need to make a little Word doc with pictures so that as they get older and worn (and I forget everything) we will know which year they picked it out, etc. Such a good idea!

  • How many kids do you have? Which transition was the hardest? It may not be the traditional answer, but for me, becoming a mama to one was the hardest. I had NO CLUE what I was in for.
The mom guilt.
How long it would take to leave the house.
The sleepless nights.
Breastfeeding.
Losing myself in motherhood — feeling like I had to be with Blaire 24/7.
Adding Ben and now Sloane to our crew has been so much easier for me. It’s like they just fall in line with the crazy. 🤪 And I think being so much more confident in myself as a mom doesn’t hurt either. 💁🏼‍♀️ #motherhoodishard

  • Prepping for our third baby has been pretty easy so far. I guess when you have an older sister and brother, plus a mama who likes to hold on to everything from her babies, there isn’t a ton of shopping to do. The kids are having fun picking out little gifts to give baby sister in the hospital (something Blaire still talks about from when Ben was born), little toys here and there, PJs, and this @babyeinstein 4-in-1 Kickin Tunes Music & Language Discovery Gym at @target. I wasn’t joking when I said they wanted to test it out! #babyeinstein #ignitecuriosity #socialspotters #blaireandben #happilytrista
  • #ad I can’t believe this girl is heading off to kindergarten! With afternoon pre-k last year, we were lucky to not have to worry about the morning rush. So this year, our go-to is a waffle and a chocolate milk for the ride to school. Horizon® Shelf Stable Chocolate Milk is our favorite since we can easily grab it and go! Spoiler alert: she takes one in her lunch, too. Blaire is so excited, but little brother and I are sad to see her spend so much time away from us. But I am excited to be able to walk her to school and avoid the CRAZY drop-off and pick-up lines while the weather’s still nice, anyways.
You can find @HorizonOrganic Chocolate Milk at @KrogerCo and you can even save $1 with this digital coupon (7/24/19 – 8/6/19). And you can stock up because Horizon Organic milk boxes are shelf-stable, meaning you can safely store them in the pantry. Shop now through the link in my bio. #blaireandben
  • Well we don’t have a Nordstrom near us, but we do have an Aldi. Most of their summer items are on clearance and we scored this sweet pool for $7. Winner, winner. 🦄☀️ #blaireandben

  • another day, another doctors appointment for someone in our crew. today it’s Ben. he was up overnight saying his ear hurt — a double ear infection for him. luckily the kid loves taking medicine and hasn’t let his ears get him down! as long as he’s up moving around they’re fine, but the second he lays down... 😭😭😭. hoping our poor buddy is feeling better tomorrow. do you feel like you need a frequent flier card for your pediatrician? just me? okay. #blaireandben #itsfinewerefine

  • Last night was our first night in the new house. 👏🏻 We still have lots of stuff to bring from the old house and then lots of cleaning over there before the final walk through and closing next Monday. Then we can focus on getting this house unpacked and organized. But first, I would like a nap. 😴 #blaireandben #happilytristahome
  • The snow that never ends. 🙄🥶 Walked out into the snow this afternoon and one kid loved it, the other not so much. “Wowwww! It’s like a wizard out here.” —Blaire 😂
